Aven ("we", "us") operates the Aven mobile app, a discovery platform for
cycling events and routes. This policy explains what we collect, how we
use it, and your choices.
Information we collect
Account information. When you create an account we
collect your email address and a
display name.
Content you create. Reviews (rating and text), events
you submit, and photos you upload.
Favorites. The events you save.
Search queries. Text you type into search is sent to
our search provider to return results.
Device / usage data. Our infrastructure and map
provider may automatically receive standard technical data (e.g., IP
address, device type, app interactions) to operate and secure the
service.
We do not collect your precise device location, and we
do not currently use advertising or third-party analytics/tracking SDKs.
How we use information
To provide and operate the app (authentication, saving favorites,
showing events, reviews, maps, and search).
To review community-submitted events and moderate reported content.
To maintain the security and integrity of the service.
Service providers
We share data only with providers that help us run the app:
Google Firebase (authentication, database, storage,
cloud functions) — stores your account, content, and favorites.
Mapbox (maps) — receives technical data needed to
render maps.
Algolia (search) — processes your search queries to
return results.
These providers process data on our behalf under their own terms and
security practices.
Public content
Events and reviews are publicly visible in the app.
Your display name may appear alongside reviews you post. Do not include
information in reviews or submissions that you do not want to be public.
Account deletion and data retention
You can delete your account at any time from
Profile → Delete Account inside the app. When you delete
your account:
We delete your profile (including your email and
display name), your saved favorites, and your authentication
credentials.
We retain your reviews and any events you submitted,
but anonymized — they are dissociated from your
identity and shown as "Deleted user." We keep this anonymized content
to preserve community ratings and event listings.
We retain other data only as long as needed to provide the service or as
required by law.
Children
Aven is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly
collect personal information from them.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be
reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
